# Single Source of Truth

> What Single Source of Truth means: all important data in one place instead of island solutions — no contradictions, the basis for reliable AI visibility.

Synonyms: source of truth, central data source, single reliable source, SSoT

Single Source of Truth describes a simple principle: every important piece of information (opening hours, customer data, services, prices) is maintained in exactly one place. All other systems draw it from there instead of keeping their own copies.

The opposite is island solutions: each program stores its own version. The same opening hours then sit in five places — and sooner or later they contradict each other. A single source of truth prevents this at the root: there is only one version, and it is correct.

For AI visibility this is decisive. An AI can only recommend your business reliably if your facts come from one clear, machine-readable source. Fragmented data leads to guessed — and often wrong — answers.
